BIOGRAPHY
Born in Sweden, Johanna has been singing as long as she can remember. Spending many years performing in church, she wowed all who heard her soulful, powerful vocals. With her huge voice and mysterious/quiet personality, people started to get curious to find out more about who she was.
At age fifteen, she moved away from home to start her music career years in a music only High School, to persue her dream . Classically trained and cast in several musicals, she ventured out to begin her journey. After sending a demo and being accepted to Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, she relocated and graduated in 2002 as the “Most Outstanding VIT (Vocal) Student.” Impeccable pitch and rhythm,
27 year old Johanna Boberg has become one of the most sought after studio and live vocalists in the Los Angeles area.
Her work has been featured on shows like "2001 Teen Choice Award Show" in the opening spoof “ Moulin Huge ” , TV Series Moonlight with the song “ Fallout ” and has worked on various projects traveling the country and sharing stages with artists like Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Daughtry and many more .
Johanna has been employed at Musicians Institute since 2001 as one of their Vocal Instructors, specializing in Vocal Technique, Sightsinging, and Live Performance.
In the past year she has appeared on Good Morning America, Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen Degeneres Show, Toronto Film Festival, Much Music Awards and toured the US and Canada with Hilary Duff on her “Dignity” Tour 2007.
Johanna Boberg is currently writing and recording songs for her debut album. Her music style is best described as “alternative Pop/Soul/Rock ” with pretty melodies and powerful vocals. You can also purchase some of the older tracks under MUSIC.
